WITHIN THE INDUSTRY THERE ARE NOW SO MANY FILE FORMATS AND WORKING PLATFORMS, WE UNDERSTAND THAT IT CAN OFTEN BE DIFFICULT TO KEEP UP WITH DEVELOPMENTS. To assist in this process we provide templates for our standard online printing products.
Listed below are some simple guidelines to help your job run smoothly:
- Ensure that the document size is the same as the finished trimmed size.
- Allow page elements which 'bleed' to overhang the page boundary by approx. 1/8".
- Include all support files (imported images, graphics, etc.) along with the main document.
- Jobs should, wherever possible, be supplied on individual pages. You do not have to impose jobs yourself because we have professional imposition software in our production studio.
- Supply images and graphics in CMYK for full color print work, not RGB.
- Create PDF files to include bleed (1/8"), embed all fonts save as PRESS OPTIMIZED, not screen optimized.
- All major publishing software can be handled (and some minor ones as well). These include Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Pagemaker, Adobe InDesign, Macromedia Freehand, MS Publisher, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, Corel Draw and Quark Xpress.
- Supply an up-to-date print-out of the job, so that we can proof check our prints
against it.
